San Angelo Police are searching for a young, possibly Hispanic male, who robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store at 1719 Kenwood this evening.
Sgt. Travis Griffith said, at about 10:13 p.m., SAPD officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven for a robbery in progress.

“Prior to our units arriving on scene, the subject fled northbound towards Kenwood, and was last seen traveling northbound away from the store.”
Griffith added that officers are looking for a young male suspect at this time, possibly Hispanic and wearing a black hoodie with black skinny jeans and black lace-up style shoes.
“The suspect was reported to have a backpack that was navy blue in color, and it had a Mexico flag on the back of it,” added Griffith.
The suspect did brandish a firearm during the course of the robbery, and he is outstanding at this time, noted Griffith.
SAPD’s CSI and Criminal Investigations are currently on scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Thus far, however, Griffith said the suspect brandished a gun during the robbery, and left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. He had a mask on during the incident. Additionally, one employee and a customer were present, but no one was injured.
Right after this incident, an Allsup's at 3802 Sherwood Way was also robbed, possibly by the same suspect. A K9 unit is on scene searching now. We will provide more information once received.
Update 12:14 a.m.
At about 11:20 p.m., SAPD officers were dispatched to an Allsup's convenience store at 3802 Sherwood Way in regards to another robbery in progress, said Sgt. Griffith. Prior to officers arriving on scene, the suspect fled northbound, similar to the robbery at 7-Eleven on Kenwood.
"The suspect is described as a young, possibly Hispanic male," said Griffith. The description he provided is similar to the suspect of the first robbery, including the dark, or navy blue, backpack. The suspect is about 5 feet 6 inches and 140 pounds, with a skinny build.

"The suspect did have a mask on, and brandished a firearm during the commission of the crimes," repeated Griffith. Several undisclosed items were taken, and Griffith speculated that this is the same suspect who robbed the 7-Eleven.
The suspect fled by foot, and no one was injured.
"At this time, be aware of the suspect and your surroundings at any of the stores," said Griffith. "If you see anything outside the norm, it never hurts to call it."
