Crashes Occur Across San Angelo Right After Quitting Time

 

As soon as the clock hit 5 p.m., the police scanner began to buzz. Across the city, a series of crashes ensued, and San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 1900 and 3500 blocks of Houston Harte, Southwest and Sherwood Way and Sherwood Way and Pierce.

At this time, traffic delays are taking place, so avoid these areas. We will provide crash updates as soon as information becomes available.

Crash 1: Sherwood Way and Southwest.

At 4:49 p.m., police were dispatched to a Major Motor Vehicle accident at this location; however, after further investigation, it was downgraded to a minor crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Crash 2: Sherwood Way and Pierce St.

At approximately 5:20 p.m., police were dispatched to Sherwood Way and Pierce St for a two-vehicle crash involving the driver of a black Cadillac and a gray Mitsubishi Galant. This crash also turned out to be minor, and an officer at the scene said there were no injuries.

Crash 3: 29th St. & Bryant

At just before 6 p.m., police were dispatched to another crash on 29th St. & Bryant. This crash was also minor, but is currently being cleaned up, so avoid the area.

Crash 3 & 4 (and more)

Prior to the crashes listed above, police were dispatched to the 1900 and 3500 blocks of Houston Harte for two crashes. These crashes caused major delays on the Loop, and although both crashes were minor, at least two additional minor crashes occurred as a result.
