At 12:50 p.m. today, a major motor vehicle crash brought traffic to a trickle on S. US 87 and Brodnax Lane, just south of San Angelo. According to a Texas Department of Public Safety official at the scene, the drivers of a Ford F-150 and a Ford passenger vehicle collided in this area, which has a posted speed limit of 75 mph.

The official explained that the Ford F-150 was heading southbound on US 87 when the Ford passenger car attempted to cross the four-lane divided roadway to head northbound. Because the Ford passenger car failed to yield the right of way, the Ford F-150, apparently traveling at highway speed, nicked it .

After the collision, there were no reported injuries.
Due to failure to yield to the right of way, the driver of the Ford passenger car was given a citation. While officials handled the crash, they closed the far right lane of Brodnax.
