At 3:20 p.m., in the 2700 block of W. Avenue N, two cars collided resulting in one person injured and some seriously smashed up cars.
A San Angelo Police Department Officer John Bouligny said the driver of a silver Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on Avenue N while a black Dodge Charger headed westbound on Avenue N. The two vehicles collided after the Dodge failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Bouligny said the driver turned left and disregarded the yield sign, which resulted in the collision. An onlooker at the scene was able to confirm the story.
The driver of the Dodge Charger went to the hospital with unknown injuries. Both cars had single occupants.
The Dodge driver will be receiving a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way.
