SAN ANGELO, TX — Well-above normal temperatures are expected across San Angelo and much of West Central Texas through the end of the week, with record highs and record warm overnight lows possible on multiple days, according to the National Weather Service San Angelo.
High temperatures Monday are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s in the San Angelo area, with mostly sunny skies after morning cloud cover clears in southern and eastern portions of the region. South winds are forecast to increase to 10 to 20 mph by midday, with higher gusts possible.
Record high temperatures may be challenged Monday, with San Angelo’s record for Dec. 22 standing at 81 degrees, set in 1971. The average high for the date is 61 degrees.
Overnight conditions will remain unseasonably mild, with lows expected to fall only into the mid to upper 50s. Clear skies early Monday night are forecast to give way to increasing low cloud cover overnight. Winds from the south are expected to continue at 5 to 10 mph in San Angelo.
The unseasonably warm pattern is forecast to persist through at least Saturday. Daily high temperatures in San Angelo are projected to range from the upper 70s to low 80s through the week, with overnight lows generally remaining in the mid to upper 50s.
According to the National Weather Service, record warm low temperatures could also be tied or broken. For Dec. 23, the record warm low in San Angelo is 51 degrees, set in 2024, compared to an average low of 34 degrees.
Forecasters say temperatures will remain well above seasonal averages through the week, with several days presenting the potential for additional record highs or warm overnight lows across West Central Texas.
