SAN ANGELO, TX — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across West Central Texas through Thursday, with the National Weather Service in San Angelo warning of locally heavy rainfall and potential flooding.
A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 4) for excessive rainfall is in effect both Wednesday and Thursday, covering San Angelo and much of the surrounding region. Forecasters say heavy downpours could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas and roadways.

Chances of at least one inch of rain range from 40% to 55% west of a line from Throckmorton to Junction, with peak rainfall likely Wednesday afternoon and again Thursday afternoon. Heavier storms could produce localized totals of one to two inches or more.

The forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the low-to-mid 80s. Rain chances decrease slightly to 40% for Thursday night and Independence Day. Weather should be cleared up by Friday night.
