SAN ANGELO, TX – The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in Texas has dropped to $3.05, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
That's a one-cent decrease from last week and a 41-cent decline compared to this time last year.
In San Angelo, drivers are paying an average of $2.90 per gallon, which is 18 cents less than last week and 39 cents less than a year ago. This places San Angelo among the Texas cities with the lower gas prices, with only McAllen drivers paying less on average at $2.85 per gallon.
Statewide, El Paso drivers are facing the highest fuel prices at $3.27 per gallon. Meanwhile, the national average price is currently $3.44, showing a slight decrease of one cent from last week and a 42-cent drop from a year ago.
This reduction in prices comes amidst a minor increase in gas demand, which rose from 8.96 million barrels per day to 9.04 million barrels per day last week, as reported by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Despite this uptick, total domestic gasoline stocks fell from 225.1 million barrels to 222.2 million barrels.
"Tepid gasoline demand and stable oil costs may cause pump prices to slide further," information from AAA Texas stated.
In the realm of electric vehicle charging, the national average for a kilowatt of electricity at an L2 commercial charging station is 34 cents, while in Texas, it is slightly lower at 28 cents.
