Authorities Locate the Body of Missing Septuagenarian

 

ODESSA, TX – A few days after starting the search for 78-year-old Edward “Eddie” Moss, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed Mr. Moss was found dead in a vacant lot near his home this morning.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, a member of TEXSAR located Mr. Moss’s body. According to Sheriff Griffis, Mr. Moss, who was diagnosed with dementia, was last seen by a neighbor on Saturday night. No foul was suspected in the incident, but authorities do believe Mr. Moss was in the area where he was found for several days. 

In a press conference, Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis explained the extensive search that was implemented to locate Mr.Moss. Volunteers, drones, and a helicopter search were all part of the effort. TEXSAR, a non-profit organization that deploys at the request of law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency management agencies, provided specialized services of search and rescue to Ector County.

He was found in a vacant lot near his home, so how extensive was the search? Most searches start at the last point the individual was seen and spread out from that point. Looks like someone dropped the ball on this search!
