SAN ANGELO— The Eldorado Eagles kept it close until turning it on to beat the Roscoe Plowboys in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs, 51-42.
Eldorado was down 28-29 at the end of the third quarter but early in the fourth quarter they took the lead, 30-29. Roscoe jumped back out in front but the Eagles wouldn’t be down for long and with about five minutes left in the game went on a small run to extend their lead to eight points.
Don’t let anyone tell you a minute is not a long time as the end of this matchup took forever. Eldorado had the lead and Roscoe was putting players on the free throw line to try and gain ground as with a 1:18 left, the Eagles had a 12-point lead, 48-36.
After around five players fouled out and when the dust settled, the Eldorado Eagles emerged victorious over the Roscoe Plowboys, 51-42, possibly sending a small shockwave across not just the Concho Valley, but the Big Country and South Plains as well.
Eldorado wins a gold ball and advances to the Area Round where they’ll face off with the Plains Cowboys who won their Bi-District game over Fort Hancock, 92-31.
