Former Texas Tech Red Raider Signs Deal with the Warriors

LUBBOCK, TX — Former Texas Tech standout Chance McMillian is headed home to the Bay Area after agreeing to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Golden State Warriors. McMillian will also join the team for the upcoming Summer League.

The Vallejo, California native will suit up for Golden State in the seventh annual California Classic Summer League, held July 5, 6, and 8 at Chase Center. The event features matchups between the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs. McMillian will then continue with the Warriors at the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas, which includes all 30 NBA teams and runs from July 10-20 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion on the UNLV campus.

“I’m beyond excited for the opportunity to play with the Golden State Warriors, my hometown team and the one I grew up watching,” McMillian said. “It’s a dream come true to suit up for the squad I’ve always looked up to. It’s crazy to think I'm a part of Dub Nation now.”

McMillian was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team as a senior at Texas Tech, where he averaged 14.2 points per game and shot 43.3% from 3-point range. He made 71-of-164 attempts from deep during the season.

After spending three seasons at Grand Canyon University, McMillian transferred to Texas Tech, where he played two seasons and helped the Red Raiders to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run in 2025. He made 136 3-pointers during his time at Tech and finished his collegiate career with 1,467 points and a 40.8% 3-point shooting percentage.

Exhibit 10 contracts allow players to join a team's Summer League roster and, if waived before the season, to receive bonuses for joining the team’s G-League affiliate. If a player remains on the roster past the start of the regular season, the contract converts to a standard minimum deal.
