SAN ANGELO, TX-- As the days begin to heat up with summer around the corner, so, too, are the offers for Central's Maverick McIvor.
In a span of roughly 36 hours, Central's QB1 picked up four offers.
The latest two come from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Rutgers University.
UTSA is the second Conference USA school to offer McIvor, who is arguably Central's most sought after player. North Texas, coached by former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell., was the first C-USA school to offer the quarterback who threw for 3,415 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2017.
Rutgers became the third Big Ten school to come calling for the 6-foot-3 quarterback with their offer today. This comes two days after the Iowa Hawkeyes offered McIvor.
The Scarlett Knights went 4-8 overall in 2017 while UTSA went 6-5 with no bowl invitation.
The offer from Rutgers came on a day when Oklahoma State University was on hand to evaluate Central players.
There is a recent history of Central stars taking the academic route and going to academic powerhouses in the northeastern portion of the country. Senior Henry Teeter signed a scholarship to play at Holy Cross in Massachusets this past signing day. Prior to Teeter, receiver Adam West signed to Harvard in the Ivy League.
Rutgers boasts a 58 percent acceptance rate and is ranked 69th in US News' Best Colleges and Universities.
