Angelo State Basketball Signs Top 10 Oklahoma Prospect

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Angelo State men's basketball team has signed Davon Scott, a top 10 prospect out of Oklahoma, head coach Vinay Patel announced Wednesday.

Scott, a 6-foot-3 guard, led Douglass High School in Oklahoma City to back-to-back state titles.

He averaged 21.2 points per game and was named the All-City Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Prep Hoops named him a top 10 prospect in the state.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Davon to our program. Davon was one of the top high school players in the state of Oklahoma and comes from a tradition-rich program," Patel said. "He has learned the importance of being a complete player on both the offensive and defensive end at Douglass, and has the skill set to step in and immediately help our program."

Patel said Scott’s long-distance shooting is the strongest part of his game.

"He can score the basketball at three levels, but he separates himself from others with his ability to shoot from the perimeter," said Patel. "We believe Davon's best basketball is ahead of him, and we can't wait to get on the floor and coach him."
