ARLINGTON, TX — The Dallas Cowboys have fired their defensive coordinator after a rough season.
Matt Eberflus' unit finished last in several areas, including points allowed per game, and 30th in yards per game. He was only with the team one season as DC.
The Cowboys are now looking for a fourth DC in four seasons.
This was Eberflus’ second stint with the team after being the linebackers coach back from 2011-2017.
There are quite a few names that could be his replacement like Jim Schwartz, Jim Lionhart, Ken Norton Jr., and Wink Martindale.
One thing that head coach Brian Schottenheimer did for the offense is bring in quality coaches and added talent to the roster. Getting assistant like Conor Riley, Klayton Adams, and adding players like Tyler Booker and Javonte Williams gave the running game some firepower. Expect Schotty to find a quality replacement and add some serious talent with two first-round picks in the upcoming draft.
