Flooding is caused by excessive rainfall which continues to be possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Excessive street flooding is also possible.
TxDOT has advised drivers to expect delays and exercise caution as multiple areas affected by the storm could have flooded roads. Those roads are FM 2335 in Knickerbocker, US 87 near Bryant, and FM 1692 just south of Miles. Those areas have reported water over the pavement, which causes hazardous conditions.
TxDOT also advises to avoid flooded area and to slow down and increase your following distance.
Due to the rain and flooding in Miles, the football game tonight between the Miles Bulldogs and the Roscoe Plowboys has been moved to San Angelo Stadium.
The rain is epected to ease up after 3:00 p.m. and tonight looks clear with a low of 41.
