San Angelo ISD Opens Applications for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals for 2025-26

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD is accepting applications for free and reduced-price school meals for the 2025-26 school year, following federal and state guidelines. The program covers breakfast and lunch for eligible students and will continue at designated campuses under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Families need to submit only one application listing all SAISD students in the household, even if they attend different schools. Applications may be completed online at www.schoolcafe.com/SanAngeloISD or on paper, available at each campus office or the Child Nutrition Services office. The online method provides the fastest processing, but paper copies are also accepted.

Eligibility Requirements

Children qualify if household income is at or below the federal income eligibility levels, or if they receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) benefits. Children who are homeless, runaway, migrant, displaced by disaster, or enrolled in Head Start or Even Start also qualify automatically.

Households applying based on income must include all household members’ names, income details, and the last four digits of the signing adult’s Social Security number—or note if none is available. Applications can be submitted anytime during the school year, but eligibility may be verified by school officials.

Community Eligibility Campuses

For 2025-26, CEP will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at Bradford Elementary, Fannin Elementary, Goliad Elementary, Reagan Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, Lake View High School, and DAEP. CEP benefits apply only to the campus where the student is enrolled and do not transfer. Students moving from a CEP to a non-CEP campus must submit an application to continue benefits after a 30-day grace period.

State Coverage for Reduced-Price Meals

Beginning Sept. 1, 2025, the State of Texas will cover the cost of reduced-price meals for qualifying students through the 2026-27 school year, eliminating the $0.40 lunch fee. The state coverage does not apply to meals purchased in August 2025, and parents must still pay for à la carte items.

Meal Prices for Non-Qualifying Students

Lunch will cost $3 for elementary students, $3.25 for secondary students, and $5.25 for adults. Breakfast is free for the first meal for all students. Extra milk is $0.60.

Payment Options

Payments can be made directly to cafeteria managers, at the Child Nutrition Services office, or online through www.schoolcafe.com/SanAngeloISD, which requires an account and charges a convenience fee.
