San Angelo's Rodeo Man: Ty Harris
SAN ANGELO, TX -- West Texas can be easily identified for the excitement under the Friday night lights, but San Angelo native Ty Harris is giving many around the Concho Valley and our area of west Texas a reason to watch the 2020 San Angelo Rodeo.
The one-time Water Valley Wildcat made a name for himself in his PRCA rookie season when he went toe-to-toe in the 2017 Cinch Chute-Out of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo with some of the greats like tie-down roping legends Cody Ohl, Tuf Cooper, and Marty Yates. Although Harris came up short in the final round he made his presence felt.
Fast forward to 2019 Harris made it to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas where he would once again meet up with some of the biggest names in tie-down roping.
Looking at Harris, who's currently ranked third in the world in tie-down roping, there's a reason why he's steadily climbing the world rankings of the PRCA. Rodeo is in his blood.
In our final rodeo feature of the week presented by The All American Autoplex in San Angelo we take a look at the Harris rodeo family tradition and why Ty's trip to the NFR carried much more meaning than a first time trip to rodeo's prestigious event.
