LAS VEGAS, NV — In the second to last round of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Ty Harris clocked in a 7.50 and tied with Rhen Richard for third place.
Marty Yates finished on top with a 7.00 and brought home the $26,230.77. Harris and Richard both earned a $13,326.92 purse.
Caleb Smidt came in second place with a 7.20 and $20,730.77.
Yates and Harris are the only ones out of that group to be in the top five in the world standings. Yates is in third place with $197,200.33 for the year. Harris is right behind him with $186,764.83.
The tie-down roping leader, Shane Hanchey, finished out of the money for the third straight day and has opened the window for someone else to take his spot. He had a 9.00 Friday for 10th place.
Hanchey sits at $209,927.69. Riley Pruitt is in second with $203,599.31. He had an 8.00 that put him in seventh place on the night and 0.20 behind Cooper Martin and $4,230.77.
The final round of the National Finals Rodeo takes place Saturday.
