SAN ANGELO, TX – The Secretary of Defense announced Sunday that all individuals on DoD property, installations, and facilities will wear cloth face coverings when they cannot maintain six feet of social distance in public areas or work centers.
The guidelines will apply to all service members, DOD civilians, contractors, families (apart from residences on installations) and all other individuals on DOD property. The CDC has issued new recommendations for all citizens who are I public settings where they cannot adhere to social distancing measures must wear cloth face coverings.
Last week Goodfellow Air Force Base entered Tier 2 Base Access that limits access to the base by personnel and visitors. As of March 27th, the following guidelines are in place:
- North Gate will be closed until further notice
- Active duty and their dependents are authorized temporary access to the AAFES and Commissary facilities to purchase necessities.
- Visitor passes will only be granted for official business and require group commander approval.
