BALLINGER, TX — The “Cook Off for Kian” is coming up quick to help raise money as Kian Francis battles acute myeloid leukemia.
The “Cook Off for Kian” is a barbecue cook-off to help raise money for the Francis family. The cook-off is on June 6-7 at 3002 State Highway 158 in Ballinger.
Kian is 15 years old and the son of Raymond and Candace Francis.
Raymond is a veteran of the San Angelo Police Department and his wife, Candace, is a nurse at the Tom Green County Jail.
All of the proceeds will go to the Francis family to help with medical expenses.
There are three meat categories including brisket, ribs, and chicken and cost $150 per team entry. There will be first, second, and third place for each category, cornhole and washer pitching tournaments, and a silent auction.
