SAN ANGELO, TX — Additional information has been released regarding the San Angelo ISD employee who was arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Abraham Gonzales, 24, was arrested on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, after he turned himself into the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents, on March 13, a witness was interviewed who said the complainant had disclosed to her recent interactions with Gonzales. The witness believed these were inappropriate because Gonzales is a teacher at Lake View High School.
The same day, the investigator spoke with the complainant, who described a “flirtatious” relationship with Gonzales. On two occasions, the complainant said she touched Gonzales’ genitals outside of the clothing.
On March 14, in a non-custodial interview with Gonzales, he confirmed the complainant had touched him twice.
The word victim was not used in the affidavit as this individual was described as the "complainant."

A press release was issued by the San Angelo Police Department that read:
"The San Angelo Police Department was contacted from a non-involved third-party on March 13, 2025, of an incident that occurred at Lake View High School.
"The Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit investigated this incident which involved a perceived improper relationship between a student and staff.
"This morning, March 19, 2025, San Angelo ISD teacher Abraham Gonzales, 24, turned himself in to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office after a warrant has been issued for “Improper Relationship between Educator/Student”, a second-degree felony.
"During the investigation, it was alleged that a School Resource Officer had engaged in inappropriate communications with the same victim. The officer was immediately placed on administrative leave so an internal investigation could take place.
"For the sake of transparency, the San Angelo Police Department shared all information received during the criminal investigation with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, who will be reviewing the incident to see if there was any criminal wrongdoing.
"The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information to release at this time."
Gonzales was arrested on March 19, 2025, for Improper Relationship Between Educator/Student, and he was released the same day on $50,000 bond.
