Texas Woman Allegedly Tried to Sell Baby for $150 on Facebook

HOUSTON, TX — A Houston woman accused of attempting to sell her newborn for as little as $150 in a Facebook group is scheduled to appear in court today, according to reports.

Juniper Bryson allegedly offered her child to the highest bidder in a Facebook group for birth mothers seeking adoptive parents. Court records indicate she privately messaged interested parties, asking for upfront payment before the baby was even born.

A witness reported the situation to hospital staff and Child Protective Services when Bryson’s baby was born. Following a search warrant, investigators seized Bryson’s phone, uncovering multiple conversations on Facebook Messenger. In one exchange, Bryson allegedly stated she wouldn’t wait until after the birth to receive payment.

In Texas, selling a child is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Bryson’s bond has been set at $30,000.
