Repeat Child Sex Offender Wanted in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Concho Valley Crime Stoppers on Wednesday asked the public for help locating Colin Blanek, who the organization stated has multiple outstanding warrants.

In a Facebook post, Crime Stoppers said Blanek is wanted on warrants for failure to comply, indecency with a child, and three counts of a sex offender’s duty to register for life or annually.

“If you know where he is, don’t keep it to yourself,” the post stated. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling (325) 658-4357 or through the P3 Tips app. Crime Stoppers said a cash reward may be paid if the information leads to an arrest.

The organization warned people not to try to detain a suspect themselves, saying doing so may be dangerous.

Blanek, 39, has a prior record in Tom Green County tied to sex-offender registration and a child sex conviction.

According to a May 8 news release from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant May 5 in the 4700 block of Spillway Road during an investigation into failure to comply with sex-offender registration requirements. Investigators detained Blanek and recovered evidence related to the case, the sheriff’s office stated. He was formally arrested May 7 and charged with two counts of a sex offender’s duty to register.

At the time of that arrest, the sheriff’s office stated Blanek was on probation for indecency with a child by exposure and was out on bond for three earlier indictments related to registration violations from September 2024 and December 2025. The Texas Department of Public Safety assisted in that investigation, the release stated.

Court records reported in 2024 show Blanek pleaded guilty that July to indecency with a child by exposure and received eight years of deferred adjudication.

Anyone with information that could lead to Blanek’s arrest should contact Crime Stoppers rather than approaching him, the organization stated.
