Local Man Indicted for Revenge P0rn

 

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has been indicted for threatening to publish personal pictures of his ex-girlfriend.

Christopher Jones, 42, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Publishing and or Threatening to Publish Intimate Visual Material and Criminal Mischief.

According to court documents, on May 1, 2023, San Angelo police responded to the 500 block of Veck Street regarding an unknown problem. The police make contact with an individual, who stated that she had reported a man had threatened to publish intimate images of her. Officers were given a name of the defendant and confronted him at the residence.

The woman had received several messages and notifications from other individuals that the defendant, identified as Jones, had sent them intimate images of her. The victim had even been sent images of herself from Jones. She said that she and Jones had been in a relationship that had ended prior to May 1, 2023. Jones had made several attempts to get back together with her, but those attempts were dismissed.

After the initial incident, the woman was informed by friends and family that Jones had sent intimate photos to them as well. In the images, it was apparent that the photos were personal and intimate.

Jones was arrested on May 1, 2023, and was released on May 5, 2023, on $77,000 bond. He is next due in court on February 28, 2024, for post indictment reporting.
