Man Who Was Shot Will Survive, Police Say

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The man who fell  in the middle of Sunset Drive after being shot multiple times on San Angelo's southwest side will survive, police said. Reports at the scene were that as many as 10 shots rang out prior to a man collapsing in the middle of the busy throughway while fleeing the gunman.

On September 29, 2023 the shooting occurred resulting in one person being injured. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Shannon Medical Center, police said.

Upon investigation, officers discovered that the suspected shooter had fled the scene on foot. A swift response enabled law enforcement to locate and apprehend the suspect at Sedona Ranch apartments. The individual is now in custody. The investigation is ongoing, with more details to be released as they become available.

Police have not released the names of the shooting suspect or the victim. Jail logs as of 5 p.m. show the most recent arrest occurring just after noon today.
