Sonora Resident Help Police Find the Armed and Dangerous 'Fishy'

 

SONORA, TX – A Sutton County resident on Thursday helped police capture a wanted suspect.

According to the Sonora Police Department, on June 22, 2023, Sonora Police Officers issued a wanted person alert for Nathaniel 'Fishy' Childress. In a nixel, the officers confirmed that 'Fishy' fled from an officer during questioning.

Childress was wanted for several warrants and was believed to be involved in a vehicle theft in Sonora. Fortunately, later that same afternoon, a citizen spotted Childress and promptly notified the police. He was apprehended and subsequently booked into the Sutton County Jail.

"We express our gratitude to the citizen for their contribution in enhancing the safety of our community," stated the SPD.

During his time as a fugitive, Childress was considered armed and dangerous. The police have verified that he was carrying a Bowie knife.
