SAN ANGELO— A convicted felon has taken a plea deal after being caught with marijuana, cocaine, and several guns.
Nicholas Martinez, 22, has been sentenced for manufacture and delivery of two different controlled substances and being in possession of more than five pounds but less than 50 pounds of marijuana.
According to information from the San Angelo Police Department, on May 6, 2022, detectives with the SAPD’s Street Crime Division executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2300 block of Lakeside Drive.
Found at the residence were several handguns, two vehicles, 6.4 ounces of cocaine, 7.5 pounds of THC products, more than five pounds of marijuana, and $10,700 in cash. Martinez was at the residence during the execution of the search warrant and was arrested for possession of marijuana >5 lbs. <= 50 lbs., manufacture and delivery CS PG 1 >=4g <200g, manufacture and delivery CS PG 2 >=400g, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Martinez was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on May 6, 2022, and was released the next day on $160,000 bond. He was indicted in September 2022. In exchange for the guilty plea, Martinez was sentenced to 30 years in prison and must pay $180 in restitution to the Department of Public Safety. His sentencing was enhanced due to him being a repeat offender.
