MIDLAND, TX — The Texas Rangers are currently investigating an officer involved shooting that took place at a Midland bar over the weekend.
According to multiple sources, on Nov. 20, at around 12:45 a.m., officers with the Midland Police Department were dispatched to the Y Knot Bar on the 4400 block of Briarwood for the report of a disturbance.
After their arrival, at some point, Christopher Hernandez, 23, fled from the officers in a motor vehicle. He was shot by an officer during the incident.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave. The extent of Hernandez’s injuries were not released but he was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
The Texas Rangers have been called in to investigate the incident.
