NEW YORK, NY – Former Chicago Bull Superstar and NBA Champion Dennis Rodman alerted the public on Saturday that he will be traveling to Russia in hopes to get WNBA star Britney Griner out of prison.
During an interview Saturday night, Rodman told reporters that he plans to leave the country this week and travel to Russia. It is unclear at this time who he will meet with but Rodman hopes his influence will help sway the people of Russia to release the basketball star.
Griner was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison after she attempted to smuggle a THC pen into the country. Russia has been in talks about her release but it would mean America releasing a Russian imprisoned in America.
Rodman, a very controversial figure, is most recently known for befriending the head of the communist party in North Korea Kim Jong Un. During his times in North Korea he can be seen laughing and joking with the Supreme Leader.
Rodman hopes that he can run the same charm on the higher ups in Russia. Only time will tell if his plan works.

I'm not so sure Putin will be nearly as enamored with Rodman as Kim Jong Un. Probably lock him up as well.

Let's send a "Woke Army" to Russia to protest in the streets, call Russia out on their racism, sexism, homophobia, oppressive Christian fundamentalism, demand reparations and read translations of Ibram X Kendi's books from megaphones in the streets!

PermalinkPutin is clearly evil, and clearly manipulative. Let us not forget when G. W. Bush claimed that he looked into Putin's "soul" and found meaningful stuff there. Bush was deluded, but in his defense he was dealing with a master at being monstrous. Putin has no soul.
Rodman is a clear combination of being a moron and being insane. Beyond having been a great athlete he is nothing. Let us hope that he accomplishes something in his putative conversations with Putin, but should that happen it will be simply because the former spymaster is playing a game with him, and with us.
