Article doesn't make it clear as to where this older man was being removed from for criminal trespassing. But, my son was out & about around 1 PM and saw this poor man being approached by SAPD in the parking lot of Paul Ann Baptist Church. If the Church was behind having this man removed from their property, I'd love to know why. What was he doing that caused them to feel fearful, threatened or just uncomfortable? I will go ahead and assume (yes, I know...it makes and Ass out of you & me) that the Church was behind all 3 arrests of this man. And, that, my friends is why I no longer attend any church or be a part of any organized religion. Churches used to be better than they are now. The World has gone to s**t. Someone needs to flush the toilet.

    Jodi...

I think you paint "organized religion" and associated churches with too broad a brush.  You admit you really don't know what transpired to cause this man's multiple arrests.  It could well be, if you will allow me to speculate, that these actions were initiated for his own good.  We just don't know.

I live in an area close to areas heavily populated with the homeless.  I see these folks every day.  I don't know why they live as they do.  I know some of them make Mr. Haley look like a Wall Street banker wearing a three thousand dollar suit and toting an Italian leather briefcase by comparison.  I just know they live on the street, and at times I have encounters with them.

It appears to me that Mr. Haley, like those I mentioned, is an unknown.  At any rate, it seems he has somehow slipped away from the comfortable life that most of us enjoy, or he would not have been arrested three times.  He also managed to bond out each time, which allowed him to get back into a world in which he appears to have issues.

I don't know what the answer is concerning him.  I just know I am not ready to condemn the folks at Paul Ann Baptist Church for his incarcerations.  It seems there are things going on with him neither you nor I understand.

Having said that, I wish you and him well.
