Buffalo Heights Standoff Suspect Booked into Jail

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— The Buffalo Heights standoff suspect has been booked into the Tom Green County Jail.

Larry Ballard, 73, has been booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant and his bond has been set at $750,000. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 4:41 p.m. on June 20, 2025.

According to information, on June 18, 2025, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3200 block of Lakota Lane in the Buffalo Heights subdivision on FM 2288 for a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, they were met with gunfire from a male subject, identified as Larry Ballard.

Deputies returned fire and contained the scene. Ballard sustained a gunshot wound and was taken into custody. No deputies were injured during the incident.

The shooting is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.

Ballard has been charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant, a first-degree felony.
