SAN ANGELO, TX –– Back in August of 2019, Kelly Holder was found unresponsive and pregnant. On Monday one of her killers was sentenced to decades in prison.
The 24-year-old appeared to have significant trauma, and her three roommates were charged with Capital Murder in connection to her death.
In August of this year, Alexander Lopez, Courtney Whitley, and Casey Kennedy all pleaded guilty in connection to the case.
During the course of the investigation, authorities learned the trio assaulted the victim because they wanted her to "feel the pain of a miscarriage.”
The trio alleged the victim had caused Whitely to miscarry her child. They stated the victim allowed "men to enter the house while everyone was sleeping" and rape the other two female roommates.
Court documents show the victim suffered an extensive amount of injuries. The roommates told police they punched and kicked the victim in her chest. Whitely allegedly sat on her chest and bounced up and down. This trauma was in addition to the strangulation the victim suffered.
The trio also sexually assaulted the victim with a wooden rod in order to treat her like she "was in prison."
On Monday, Courtney Whitley was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Alexander Lopez will be sentenced on November 12th while Casey Kennedy will be sentenced on December 17th.
