San Angelo Teen Sentenced for Brutal Beating Inside the County Jail

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo teenager was sentenced to ten years in prison Tuesday after brutally beating another inmate inside the Tom Green County Jail.

According to court documents, on Sep 14 at 2 p.m., Dimitri Hernandez, 19, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault.

Hernandez was accused of getting into a fight while inside the Tom Green County Detention Facility.

During the fight he struck, kicked, and stomped on the victim. Following the confrontation the victim had to have his spleen removed and suffered multiple facial fractures.

Hernandez was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System.
