Dangerous Fugitive Pervs on Ten Most Wanted List Arrested

 

AUSTIN, TX – The Department of Public Safety has confirmed two of the sex offenders featured on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list have been apprehended.

The first offender, 28-year-old Bryant Keith Martin, was arrested by the Amarillo Police Department on August 16th. Martin has been wanted since December 2020, when a warrant for his arrest was issued in Potter County for failure to register as a sex offender.

He was convicted in 2014 for one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact for incidents involving two girls, ages 5 and 6, in Randall County.

Martin was placed on seven years probation, and in 2015 was convicted of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and was sentenced to four years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison. He was released from prison in 2019 and required to registers as a sex offender in Amarillo.

The second offender, 52-year-old Joseph Darwin Watson, was arrested on August 18th by Stephenville Police.

Based on the information that resulted from the investigation, authorities located Watson at an apartment complex.

According to authorities, Watson is considered a high-risk sex offender who is required to register every three months for life. A warrant for his arrest was issued out of Hamilton County for failure to register.

Watson has an extensive criminal history that dates back to the 90s. In 1994 he was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault involving a 5-year-old boy. Six years later he was convicted of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and spent 5 years in TDCJ prison.

In 2009, Watson was convicted of sexual assault involving a 47-year-old woman in Milam County and received a 10-year sentence in a TDCJ prison. 

Watson was released in2018 and registered as a sex offender in Hamilton County.
