Texas Rangers Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Odessa

 

ODESSA, TX -- The Odessa Police Department has confirmed an officer-involved shooting took place shortly before 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

According to OPD, officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Lamont Ave for reports of a woman making suicide threats.

When officers arrived at the scene they began speaking with the 61-year-old female.

According to officers the woman then pointed a gun in their direction and an officer shot her.

The woman was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The Texas Rangers will be taking over the investigation.
