SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department will help calm the storm of people that will be attending graduations this Saturday for the San Angelo ISD.
According to the Sgt. Cade Solsbery with the San Angelo Police Department, on May 29, officers with the SAPD will be at 43rd St. near the Coliseum to control Traffic entry as necessary prior to graduation. The main entrance to the coliseum and the entrance just to the west of Lakeview Stadium will be used.
The entrance to the east of Lakeview Stadium will be blocked off and not open to the public. Attendees can park anywhere in the main parking lot of the Coliseum.
Officers will remain in place and control Traffic exiting the graduation at 43rd Street/Coliseum and at Chadbourne and Coliseum until Traffic can flow on its own.
For San Angelo Central's graduation, officers will be in place on both sides of San Angelo Stadium to direct traffic into the parking lots as necessary.
On the Knickerbocker side both entrances will be open and available for use for entry and exit. On the Johnson side, only the north and south entrances will be available for entry and exit. The middle entrance will be closed.
For exiting on the Knickerbocker side of the stadium, Officers will control the traffic light at Knickerbocker and Commerce and stop traffic on Knickerbocker as needed to allow for vehicles to exit. If you leave on the Johnson side, vehicles exiting the north entrance, at the traffic light, will be allowed to leave to the north only. Vehicles exiting the south entrance will be allowed to leave either north or south on Johnson.
Officers will remain in place to control traffic flow until traffic can flow on its own.
In the event rain postpones both graduations, they will be held at the Coliseum and the entry and exit for both graduations will work the same as outlined above for the Lakeview Stadium details.
Graduation is set to start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 29
