Murder Trial Jury Selection Begins Monday

SAN ANGELO, TX – Jury selection in the murder trial of Roberto Arambula is set to begin Monday in the McNease Convention Center in San Angelo.

Arambula is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Ryheme Talton in Jan. 2020.

As previously reported, on Jan. 28, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Stripes convenience store located at 1322 South Abe for a stabbing call. Here is the original story:  Police: Man Stabbed to Death at Stripes.

Within the hour, Rhyheme Talton, 26, was at Shannon Hospital but later died due to his injuries. The Doctor at Shannon told officers that he attempted to save his life but the victim died from a stab wound to the left chest area.

He went on to state that Talton had a slash on the side of his left abdomen as well as other injuries. The doctor finished his statement by telling police he believed that the wounds were caused by a sharp-edged instrument such as a knife.

Investigators used video surveillance to identify 47-year-old Roberto Arambula.  Arambula was eventually arrested and charged with murder.

Murder is a first degree felony in Texas punishable by five to 99 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

The murder trial will be held in Judge Ben Woodward's Courtroom A in the Tom Green County Courthouse after the jury is selected.  The trial is expected to take at least one week.
