Former Teacher Charged with Beating Kittens to Death

SUGAR LAND,TX –  A former Texas teacher has been charged with beating his four pet kittens to death.

Graham Reid has been charged with 4 counts of animal cruelty. He said he killed the animals because he wanted to feel powerful. He reportedly needed to feel powerful because he was bullied and oppressed as a child.

The kittens ranged from eight weeks to a year old and were violently beaten to death with a metal bar, scratching post, and a litter box scooper.

Reid is also a former teacher at Fort Bend ISD. The district released the following statement:

"We have been made aware of a disturbing animal cruelty allegation against a teacher who is no longer employed with the District. We are unable to comment further as the matter involves an ongoing criminal investigation. Please know the safety and security of our students is our top priority and we are taking steps to safeguard the emotional well-being of our students by making well-trained counselors available to the teacher's former students."

An animal cruelty task force was tipped off about the death of the animals.
