Suspect Arrested in San Antonio Woman's Shooting Death

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio woman was shot and killed in early May and her family thinks they know what went on that caused her death.

Police say that Ramona Rodriguez was having an argument with her roommate’s boyfriend, Darryl Johnson. The argument was over Rodriguez accusing Johnson of stealing her cell phone and phone charger.

Rodriguez walked outside to call police when Johnson followed her outside and shot her.

“You don’t have to do this.” was heard before Rodriguez was shot multiple times.

Johnson then left the Oak Hills Village Apartment complex with another individual. The vehicle Johnson left in was involved in a major crash near the apartment complex. When officers responded to the crash a witness said that two individuals ran from the scene. The description given matched Johnson.

Johnson then returned to the location of the shooting and was injured. He told police that he scraped his knee then said he had been shot a couple days before and still had a bullet in his leg.

Johnson was arrested and charged with murder.

Ramona Rodriguez leaves behind 4 children and you can donate HERE to help with the funeral expenses.
