Procession Honoring Fallen Deputy Sgt. Jones Arrives in San Angelo Wednesday Morning

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo will honor fallen Concho County Deputy Sgt. Stephen Jones as his remains are returned to San Angelo this morning.

According to local law enforcement, the police escort for Jones left Lubbock around 8:00 a.m. and will be in San Angelo shortly after 11:00 a.m.

"All oncoming traffic that feeds onto the escort route will be temporarily closed to allow safe passage of a fallen hero and his LEO escorts," said SAPD in a statement. "Please take alternate routes to avoid delays. The escort is slated to arrive at the city limits sometime between 11-11:30 a.m."

Citizens are invited to show their support as the police escort travels down US Hwy 87 in Grape Creek and S.Bryant Blvd to Twohig St. where the procession will enter Johnson's Funeral Home.

Drivers are asked to be courteous as the procession makes its way through the city.
