Big Spring Man Killed in Vicious Dog Attack

 

BIG SPRING, TX – A 46-year-old man lost his life after a vicious dog attack early Tuesday morning in Big Spring.

According to Big Spring PD, at approximately 6:00 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of E. 13th Street for reports of an unknown disturbance.

When officers arrived at the scene they saw a dog attacking the victim, John Henry. Two individuals attempted to stop the dog attack but were not successful.

The officers then discharged their weapons in the direction of the dog and scared the dog away.

Henry was immediately transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for treatment, but would, unfortunately, succumb to his injuries. A second individual was also bit during the attack and treated and released from the hospital.

The official cause of death has not been released, but an autopsy has been ordered.

The dog was captured by Animal Control Wardens and placed in quarantine at the Big Spring Animal Shelter. The case remains under investigation at this time.
