UPDATE: Area Cleared By K-9 but Suspect Still on the Run

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police have set up a perimeter Tuesday morning in west San Angelo in the area of North St., Webster St. and N. Van Buren St. 

Communications indicated officers were involved in a chase but it is unclear at this time if the two are related.  

There are several Police vehicles in the area.  

Reporters at the scene say officers have surrounded a house and could be seen with guns drawn.  

There is a K9 unit in the area as well.  

This is a developing story.

A witness said the house could be a drug house but that isn't confirmed. 

There is a crashed vehicle in the alley.

UPDATE APR. 6 11:15 A.M.

A Sargent with the San Angelo Police Department has confirmed that the area is clear. 

He also confirmed that the suspect was running from police down the alley of North St. before he crashed his suburban into the a utility pole. Police did not catch the suspect but have cleared the area with a K-9 Unit.

AEP is currently on scene fixing the electrical problem. Neighbors confirmed with San Angelo LIVE! reporters that they still had power so only the one house was effected.

SAPD officers told reporters that a release containing the identity of the suspect will be given out at a later time.
