WATCH: Armed Suspect Trapped in Wrecked Vehicle

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Local law enforcement officers were involved in a wild standoff with a wanted suspect Wednesday morning that ended up in a hotel parking lot. 

According to law enforcement communications, officers attempted to serve a warrant on an individual who attempted to flee in a red SUV.  The SUV rolled in the parking lot of the La Quinta Inn on Loop 306 near Knickerbocker Rd.  

The SUV landed on its side and the suspect was trapped in the vehicle.  Communications indicate the suspect was armed and attempted to break the windows of the vehicle to escape.

San Angelo Police Officers, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the scene.  It is unclear at this time if any shots were fired. 

After a short time the suspect was taken into custody.  He requested medics to evaluate his medical condition.  

Communications indicate an ambulance was called to the scene and treated the suspect.  Reports indicate the suspect was taken into custody.
