Suspect's Mother Arrested For Tampering With Evidence In Fatal Hit-and-Run

 

ANDREWS, TX -- After Humberto Polanco was charged with murder for intentionally running over his 38-year-old girlfriend, his mother has also been charged in connection to the murder.

According to law enforcement, Eva Polanco has been charged with tampering with evidence. 

At this time, it is unclear how Mrs. Polanco tampered with evidence, but authorities have released additional details of the relationship between the suspect and the victim, Veronica Carrillo.

Polanco and Carrillo apparently lived together in Andrews and had an on-going relationship.

Court records show Polanco was arrested in October and subsequently released on December 8 for assault causes injury in family violence.

Last week Polano swerved his SUV and struck Carrillo as she was walking on a road in Ector County. Carrillo succumbed ot her injuries at the scence.

Mrs. Polanco was released after posting a $10,000, while her son's bail was increased from $250,000 to $500,000 after he was transferred to Ector County.
