Suspect Charged With Murder In Fatal Hit-and-Run

 

ODESSA, TX – A 35-year-old suspect has been charged with murder after police say he ran over a woman on purpose.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday night deputies responded to an auto-pedestrian accident on West 16th Street.

At the scene, deputies located 38-year-old Veronica Carillo. She had been struck and killed by a vehicle that had left the scene.

The subsequent investigation revealed Humberto Polanco Jr. was driving a black SUV.

Police allege Polanco purposely swerved and hit Carillo. 

Polanco was charged with murder and booked into the Ector County Jail.
