Fugitive Felon Captured After Dangerous High Speed Chase

 

VIDOR, TX – A high-speed chase led to the arrest of 36-year-old Ronald Dale Fuselier after he intentionally rammed into a deputy’s vehicle. 

According to KTXS, around 3:54 a.m. on Monday an officer with the Vidor Police Department observed a black 2013 Chevy Tahoe passing vehicles in the center turn lane. When the officer activated the emergency lights the Tahoe began speeding down FM 1132 at 100 mph.

The Tahoe then entered a trailer park and then intentionally swerved into an Orange County Sheriff’s Office vehicle striking it on the passenger side.

Fuselier then exited the trailer park and continued speeding downing Hwy 105. As he neared the Jasper County line he attempted to hit a second deputy’s vehicle and continued north on Hwy 105.

Approximately 4 miles inside the Jasper County line the Tahoe attempted to make a U-turn exiting the roadway but got stuck in the mud.

Fuselier then exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. According to police, the Tahoe had been stolen out of Orange County.

Fuselier is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer (1st-degree Felony)
  • Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer (1st-degree Felony)
  • Evading Arrest / Detention with a Motor Vehicle w/ Previous Conviction (3rd Degree Felony)

Fuselier also had the following outstanding warrants and is facing a total bond of $170,000

  • Possession of Controlled Substance ($50,000 bond)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance ($30,000 bond)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence ($30,000 bond)
  • Attempt to take a Weapon from a Peace Officer ($10,000 bond)
  • Theft of a Firearm ($10,000 bond)
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon ($30,000 bond)
  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle ($10,000 bond)

“Fuselier is currently incarcerated in the Orange County Jail,” said Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll. “The Vidor Police Department would like to thank the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Constable Pct. 4. Texas Department of Public Safety and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in taking this dangerous fugitive into custody.”
