Disturbed Eastland Man Fatally Shoots Teenage Girlfriend

EASTLAND, TX – An Eastland man was arrested Saturday after he admitted he shot and killed his girlfriend.

According to KTXS, on June 13, deputies with the Eastland County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 800 block E Virginia Street in Eastland for the report of a shooting victim.

When they arrived they found Sean Casey Simington, 21, waiting for them. Simington met the deputies at the front door and told them that he had shot his girlfriend and would comply with everything.

The body of Carizma Ciana Maynard, 18, was in the kitchen. She had been shot multiple times. Her body was sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

Further investigation revealed that after Siminton shot Maynard he called her mother and said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." When she asked what for he responded "I shot your daughter and killed her."

Members of Carizma's family stated that Simington had mental issues.

"Carizma had just graduated high school and was on her way to college in the fall," said a GoFundMe page created to help the family with funeral expenses. "This tragic loss was obviously unexpected to the family and Carizma had no life insurance. Her family wishes to honor her with an appropriate funeral, but needs assistance with expenses during this time."
