Border Patrol Seizes $1.3 Million in Meth on Mother's Day

 

LAREDO, TX – Mother’s Day weekend was a busy one for U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Office of Field Operations officers at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge.

According to CPB, officers intercepted hard narcotics with an estimated street value of  $1.3 million.

On Sunday, a CBP officer sent a 2002 GMC Sierra for a secondary inspection where a canine and non-intrusive imaging system examination was completed. Officers discovered 48 packages weighing 68.89 pounds of methamphetamine.

The driver, a 46-year-old female U.S. citizen traveling from Mexico, was arrested and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
