CITY: Unidentified Employer in Tom Green County Tests Entire Workforce

SAN ANGELO, TX – One of the largest employers in Tom Green County tested all of its employees for COVID-19 Wednesday which caused a major spike in tests reported.

According to the City of San Angelo, on April 29, the number of tests administered was 1,327. The city Thursday announced they had now tested 1,833 people.

"The spike in pending cases in today's report comes from a large employer in Tom Green County deciding to test its entire workforce," said the City of San Angelo in a Facebook Post. "These were done through a private lab but are being reported to the Health Department."

The city did not identify the entity that tested its employees but are encouraging large employers to test employees to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

Why don’t we know what company so we can avoid them? Not making that known is a real danger to the public

It would be nice to know NOW, today , not later what company had the employees tested. I would want to avoid it also. I am a nurse and I sure do not want it. Or they don't want us to know which is negligence on the part of the employer. Maybe tomorrow we will know. I am glad however that the employer thought of having everyone tested to help prevent the spread.
