Border Patrol Agents Rescue Man From Rio Grande River

EAGLE PASS, TX – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station rescued a man from the Rio Grande River on April 10.

Agents performing line watch duties observed an individual begin struggling while attempting to cross the Rio Grande River near Normandy. The agents quickly deployed a rescue device and were able to successfully pull the man to safety.

A Border Patrol EMT was standing by to evaluate the subject. No further medical attention was requested. The subject was then expeditiously processed per CBP guidelines.

Amidon, Jr. "Due to the awareness and vigilance of our agents, another life was spared from the treacherous dangers of the river and the hazardous proposition of crossing the border illegally.”
