SAN ANGELO, TX – A 34-year-old man was tased after he resisted arrest by SAPD officers for possession of methamphetamine.
According to the SAPD, on April 1, officers with the San Angelo Police Department made a traffic stop of the corner of East 16th and North Chadbourne.
During the stop the officers discovered the driver, Henry Garcia III, 34, driving the vehicle was wanted for a criminal mischief warrant.
"Garcia resisted the detention and a brief struggle ensued, which resulted in a Taser deployment," said the SAPD in a Facebook post.
In the midst of the struggle, Garcia allegedly dropped a bag filled with meth as well as a digital scale.
SAPD also confirmed that that a pistol was found in Garcia's pants pocket.
Garcia was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon and the warrant for criminal mischief.
Garcia is currently in the Tom Green County Jail.
